After purchasing a new Sig Sauer P320X Carry, I decided that it was time to upgrade my original P320 Compact that I’ve had since 2015 when they debuted. I have over 4,000 rounds in my P320 Compact and is in my EDC rotation. So after much debate, I decided to purchase the Wilson Combat P320 Grip Module compared to sending a module out and get stippling done.

So what made me go with Wilson Combat. First and foremost, Wilson Combat offers a great line of pistols and aftermarket accessories, typically for the Beretta and 1911 pistols. But when I stumbled upon some videos online about their P320 variant that they did I thought, man I wish they just made the grip module. Luckily, they do. Looking at their website, it appears that they are usually out of stock, but I was able to purchase this grip module from MidwayUSA for $65.

When it arrived I was very eager to get it unpacked and see how it all fits with my slide. I had to make sure that I ordered the correct module (Compact) because typically, they have the, Full-Size, Carry and/or X-Compact with the 3.6″ barrel instead of the 3.9″ barrel. So you have to make sure you get the correct one when ordering.

While putting in my trigger pack, I noticed that installing it was a bit tough due to how tight it is installing it. After installing the trigger pack and removing it two or three times, it became quite easy to install like my factory grip module. Also, don’t be surprised that the take-down lever is going to be a bit tight as well, but again, after removing it and installing it a few times, it does make it a bit easier to install.

So I was very excited about this grip module…until I installed my magazine…well attempted to install it. Unfortunately, I have the original magazines from 2015 and evidently they do not work with this grip module. Well, shit. So my factory magazines do not fit the Wilson Combat P320C Grip Module. It appears that it takes the X-series style compact magazine, which are $50 from Sig Sauer directly. But after some quick research, it appears that changing out the floor plate will make it to where I can use my older factory magazines with this grip.

After purchasing the floor plate’s, I re-installed the magazine and it worked perfectly! The grip in the hand feels great. It does have a rough texture on the front and back of the grip and it does have slight texture on the sides, but doesn’t offer much grip. It looks great and honestly, carrying feels great.

When carrying the original grip module, I always noticed I’d often have snags on my shirt and end up having holes at the bottom getting caught on the grip. The Wilson Combat Grip Module gets rid of that.

Shooting the pistol is great. I will say that with the addition of the Tungsten Weights (sold separately), it does make a difference in shooting and overall balance of the pistol. Like I said before, I have quite a lot of rounds on this pistol and this grip module feels great compared to the original. I shot this pistol without the tungsten weights first and noticed that it is felt about the same compared to the original grip module. After adding the tungsten weights, it makes a difference and feels more balanced in my hand, so I believe I’m going to run the weights in it.

The Wilson Combat Grip Module does offer some changes over the original. For one, the stippling is the first thing that you notice right out of the gate. After that, the grip is a bit narrower and the magazine well flares at the bottom. Although with other gun manufacturers out there offer flares at the mag well on their pistols :cough cough Glock:, it doesn’t fit well in my hands. But the Wilson Combat feels amazing in the hand and I can still grip properly.

Moving forward, the under cut trigger guard give you the opportunity to grip the pistol high up and matches well with the rounded beaver-tail. Along with side of the grip, you will notice a huge cut out for your thumb to be placed in a great spot to hit the magazine release. With the original grip module, I had to move my grip just a bit to do a mag release. The Wilson Combat Grip Module makes it a bit easier to manipulate the pistol, especially with the factory installed mag release.

Keep moving forward, you notice the rounded trigger guard. The original is very square, which I believe was designed for winter glove usage. I actually prefer the rounded trigger guard over the square one. And if you’re thinking it doesn’t make that much of a difference, but to me it does. With the addition to the rail section and rounded trigger, it will bring the weapon light a bit closer to the user. I don’t have long fingers and I have to add the PHLster ARC Enhanced WML Switches on my weapon lights.

Rounding out the end of the grip, you will notice that it tapers in and up instead of it being square and “boxy”. I feel like with the Wilson Combat Grip Module really compliments my P320 Compact. With this addition, it makes me want to add an RMR or even a different slide to give it a more custom make over.

So is the Wilson Combat P320C Grip Module worth the price? In my opinion, yes it is. Again, this is just my opinion. For reference, I wear medium gloves and this fits perfectly in my hands. If you have bigger hands, this pistol may or may not fit your needs and may not be comfortable in your hands. For the price point of $65, to me it’s a good buy for someone wanting to add some custom grip to your P320 Compact. Just remember the downside with this grip module is the fact that you will have to add the newer SIG magazine floor plates if you are using the older Sig Sauer P320 Compact magazines.

If you’re in the market for a new grip module for your Sig Sauer P320, then check out the Wilson Combat Grip Module and see if it’s right for you.

As always, ya’ll be good and be safe!
